Chiropractic Care

The science of chiropractic has been developed and refined ever since it started in the 1800's at Palmer College of Chiropractic. By adjusting the spinal column through specific chiropractic adjustments, a patient can experience relief of nerve interference on the spinal nerves. Spinal rehabilitation with chiropractic manipulations will enhance the performance of the patient.

Chiropractic healthcare provides patients with an alternative choice for diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting the nerves, muscles and skeletal system.

Sports Physicals

Sports Physicals available at IHWC

In addition to sports physicals, Integrated Health & Wellness offers a complimentary evaluation of the athlete's feet and will provide a recommendation on footwear to help reduce injuries.

No matter how well an athlete prepares, injuries are still a possibility for each and every one of them. Being able to work with coaches and trainers the past several years, Dr. Trost understands the importance of injury prevention. Pro-activity is very important in the health of an athlete and the team.

A common injury of most runners is foot, shin, knee, hip, and lower back pain. Dr. Trost has found over the years that proper footwear can make the difference in preventing some of the mechanisms of injuries.

Dr. Trost has taken educational courses learning how to evaluate the athlete for stress on the feet while standing and during their gait cycle. A pedigraph (ink impression) of the feet from heel strike to toe-off can reveal a lot for a person. Our office performs this quick, easy screening test for our patients with foot, knee, hip and/or lower back issues.

Kinesiology Taping

Kinesiology tape is an elastic therapeutic tape. By mimicking the qualities of the human skin, kinesiology tape can provide proven, comfortable treatment of any age or condition. Kinesiology tape is approved for treatment during any of the stages of injury.

Kinesiology taping can be used along side many other treatments and modalities including: chiropractic care, physical therapy, electrical muscle stimulation, icing, moist heat, biofreeze, etc.

Kinesiology tape is a latex-free hypoallergenic cotton fiber tape that is used in conjunction with the kinesiology taping method to move lymph fluids, change muscle tone, improve posture, and correct movement patterns. Kinesiology tape is used with many conditions.

Spinal Decompression

Spinal decompression is a non-surgical, traction based treatment outcome for herniated or bulging discs in the neck and low back.

Anyone who has back, neck, arm, or leg pain caused by degenerated or damaged disc may be helped by spinal decompression.

These conditions include herniated or bulging discs, spinal stenosis, sciatica, facet syndrome, or even failed spinal surgery.

In almost all cases, the treatments are completely painless. In fact, some people fall asleep during the spinal decompression session. The number of sessions needed and your specific treatment plan will be determined by the doctor after your examination. To reduce inflammation and assist the healing process, supporting structures may be treated with therapy, chiropractic adjustments if indicated, and/or rehabilitation.

Doctor skills, combined with the computerized traction head are the keys. Proper assessment, correct positioning and the use of pre-programmed patterns of distraction and relaxation may reduce disc pressure allowing nutrients to accelerate disc healing.

Spinal decompression has saved many people from spinal surgery. If you are suffering from a degenerated or herniated disc, don't risk surgery until you've explored safe and effective spinal decompression.

Functional Dry Needling

This is a treatment for muscular tightness and spasm which commonly follows injuries and often accompanies the degenerative processes. This muscular tightness and spasm will cause compression and irritation of the nerves exiting the spine. When the nerves are irritated, they cause a protective spasm of all the muscles to which they are connected.

This may cause peripheral diagnoses, such as carpel tunnel, tendonitis, osteoarthritis, decreased mobility and chronic pain. Small, thin needles are inserted in the muscles at the trigger points causing the pain referral. The muscles would then contract and release, improving flexibility of the muscle and decreasing symptoms.
